In Heaven, we will reach an unimagined level of perfection and fullness in God. We simply can’t comprehend what this truly means or looks like. But, it is rather easy to see that there’s a gap between who we are today and who we will be in Heaven. There are things we do now, that have no place in Heaven – namely sin.

Therefore, to enter Heaven, we must undergo a purification. And, this life is our opportunity to undergo this process.

Today, this point is often overlooked or brushed off. Purification is challenging. The Catholic faith is challenging.

But, does that mean it’s not worth it?

No. All the more we see that anything worth doing or having or achieving requires effort. Success in academics, sports, art, music, marriage, children requires effort. It requires that we give all of ourselves.

So many just write off the faith because it gets challenging. Because it’s easier to give up. It’s easier to ‘stay home.’

But, in those times, when we are challenged – double down. Turn with more zeal and vigor to the gifts we’ve been given – prayer, the sacraments, the Church, our brothers and sisters in Christ.  And, remember – in the end, the reward infinitely surpasses the effort.

I consider that the sufferings of this present time are as nothing compared with the glory to be revealed for us.” Romans 8:18
