Fear can be a crippling factor in our lives. From the smallest things to the biggest. We can be held back by our fear.
One way to get over our fear is to ask ourselves, “What’s the worst case scenario?”
In most cases, the worst isn’t as bad as we might think.
Don’t get me wrong, losing can hurt and sting. But, whether it’s asking a girl out, trying out for a sports team, starting a business, etc – the potential gains of actually going for it far outweigh the potential loss of time, money, or our hurt pride.
What is our fear currently holding us back from? What are we afraid of? What have we been on the fence about for a long time?
What role does fear play in our faith? In what way? Are we afraid of others judging us for our beliefs?
There is such thing as a healthy fear – for our faith, that’s a Fear of God. But, not in a quaking kind of fear, but in reverence and obedience to the all powerful.
When we fear, respect, and obey God, we don’t need to fear men.
“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; fear him rather who can destroy both body and soul in hell.” Mt 10:28
Our fear of God helps us to reach Heaven… and avoid Hell, the real worst case scenario.
Be the Men.
