My 2 year old daughter is going through the phase where every question or comment is answered with: “Why?”

As tiresome as it is, I also can’t help but notice that we adults (myself included) do the same thing with God.

We ask, plea, complain, get angry, and stomp our feet (figuratively, but maybe literally) because we don’t get what we want or we can’t do this or that.

We turn to God and ask “Why?” (As if God needs to answer to us).

But, whether we’re dealing with kids or God is ‘dealing’ with us – the answer is the same.

It’s not ‘because I said so.’ It’s because ‘I love you.

We want the best for our children, for our spouses, for our friends and family. Do we really believe that God somehow doesn’t want the same for us?

Be the Men,
