If you’re at all familiar with Matthew Kelly, you’ve probably come across an idea that he talks about a lot – becoming the best version of yourself.
It’s the measuring stick for how we should live our days. What did we do today to become the best version of ourselves? Physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually?
It seems like a simple idea but we often lose sight of it. Day in and day out, we don’t see the changes in our lives. Progress is slow.
But, becoming the best at anything requires time, effort, and sacrifice.
If we can commit to living our lives this way, asking ourselves if this decision or that decision will move us closer to or further from the best version of ourselves, then over the course of a lifetime, we could drastically alter our future.
This should be our guiding principle – to become the best version of ourselves.
And, this is an uphill battle. There are forces in our world that don’t want us to reach our potential. They don’t want us to be the people we were created to be.
But maybe, that’s exactly what our world needs.
