As the story goes, in the early 1900s the Times sent out an inquiry to several authors asking them, “What’s wrong with the world today?

G.K. Chesterton famously replied, “Dear Sir, I am. Yours truly, G.K. Chesterton.

Whether the story is true or not, Chesterton’s words ring true then and now.

In the U.S., everyone seems to be playing the blame game. The world is going down the toilet because of so-and-so, or this group or that group. That’s not to say that those people are without blame.

On the contrary, the truth is that we are all at fault. Our country is a reflection of our culture and we are all a part of our culture, both sides of the debate.

Again, I will be the first to say that there are evil forces at play that are shaping our world, and not in a good way.

And, while we may not be counted among those evil forces, Edmund Burke beautifully said, The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

There’s the kicker. We may not be the ones spreading evil, but are we fighting to stop it?

We can’t be idle. We must take responsibility.

Be the Men.
