As Christians, we’re faced with the very real challenge of living in the world but not of the world.
We know that there’s more to life than just going to work, paying the bills, etc. But, even when we know that there’s more, it’s difficult to live this life so keenly aware of the next one.
Our thoughts, worries, and decisions are so often dictated by the things of this world. And, this only continues as our responsibilities increase.
Don’t get me wrong – this world, as created by God, is good, and in this world, we have the potential for even more good.
But, we cannot forget – we are pilgrims. We are ‘passing through,’ but it’s a proving ground.
We must daily call to mind that after this life, we will face judgment for how we live, and how we lived will determine if we go up or down, Heaven or Hell.
