In pursuit of a life of virtue, we must remember that virtues are habits. And, habits must be developed and they must be tested.

Often, this happens at the same time. It’s the opposing vices that can give way to virtue.

We must learn to see each vice, each trial, each struggle – as a chance to grow in the opposing virtue.

In the moment, yes, it’s incredibly difficult. But, the awareness that we’re being tested can help us ask God for grace to make it through, to grow.

It’s challenging, no doubt. But, to foster a life of virtue, it must be done.

Virtue doesn’t grow in a vacuum, it grows in the craziness of our lives.

Be the Men,
