Human beings have the ability to increase and advance physically, emotionally, intellectually, spiritually, etc.

More times than not, we take this for granted. A tiger will grow and mature pretty much as much as nature allows. Last week, we talked about the best versions of ourselves, but is a tiger really trying to be the best version of itself? Or, does it just ‘be a tiger?’ If our goal was just to ‘be a human,’ that seems like a pretty low bar.

The difference is that we can choose to be ‘good’ humans. As humans we can choose to grow or change ourselves.

Of course, like the tiger, we often live day to day, so consumed with the present moment that the thought of committing to change like working out for a year, or learning a new language seems so impossible.

But, for most of us, time is on our side. On average, we have decades of life left. We can take advantage of this time to grow in all dimensions of our lives, but only if we choose to. Unlike the tiger, we can choose to fulfill our full potential – only if we make that effort.

So, the challenge this week is to learn something new every day. Whether it’s a new skill, a fact, a word. Anything. Engage our brains to grow. And, don’t be afraid to have fun in the process. 🙂
