This weekend, my wife showed me this video on YouTube (here).
In it, Jim Caviezel, the actor who portrayed Jesus in the Passion of the Christ, surprises young adults at a conference in Chicago earlier this year.
He gives a talk that’s about 15 minutes long, but it’s worth it. He touches on many themes that are very relevant for our lives today as Catholic men.
I’d try to summarize his words here, but I wouldn’t do it justice. You just need to watch for yourself.
“You have come to fight as free men. And free men you are! What will you do without freedom? Will you fight?!”
A little side note, as mentioned above Jim Caviezel is well known as playing Jesus Christ in the Passion. If you’ve never seen the Passion of the Christ, or it’s been a while, maybe think about starting the tradition of watching it every Lent, or every year during Holy Week. In so many ways, the movie brings to life what we so often only hear and read about.
Jim Caviezel plays St. Luke in the movie, Paul Apostle of Christ, coming out this Easter, which also looks very well done. Check out the trailer here.
